Preeti and Kantipur are legacy font encodings where ASCII characters are repurposed to display Devanagari — they only render correctly when that exact font is installed. Both convert to Unicode the same way in our converter.

How do I convert roman text to Preeti font?
Roman/romanized Nepali (English letters) doesn't convert to Preeti directly — go through Unicode first. Type your text in the Typing Tool to get Unicode, then paste that into the Font Converter and select Unicode → Preeti.
How do I convert Kantipur font to Unicode?
Paste your Kantipur text into the Font Converter and select Preeti → Unicode mode. Kantipur uses a very similar encoding to Preeti, so it converts correctly for the vast majority of characters.
How do I type Nepali using an English keyboard?
Open the Nepali Typing Tool and type phonetically — 'namaste' gives नमस्ते, 'nepal' gives नेपाल. No special keyboard or font installation needed.
Do you translate Nepali to English, or just convert the script?

Can I convert Preeti to Kalimati font?
